THE PROCESS

ONE DAY INSTALL

95% of Roofs are Insurance Claims - Let us Help You!

STEP 1

Choose a Professional Roofing Contractor

Call LookUp Roofing to setup a Free Inspection Appointment to determine the remaining life of your shingles. We will examine and evaluate all damages to your property with photo documentation. A full report is provided to outline any items discovered during the inspection that are critical to lifespan projection. After the inspection, the contractor will determine whether it is advisable to make a claim.

CLAIMS SPECIALIST

STEP 2

Insurance Consideration

LookUp Roofing is an approved and preferred contractor for several insurance carriers in Georgia and North Carolina. Our Insurance Specialist is equipped with the proper software and staff to facilitate your claims handling process with minimal effort from you – the homeowner. Due to the volume of storm damage over the last few years, we have replaced countless roofs by providing an Accurate Damage Evaluation.

95% of all Roofing Repairs or New Roofs are Insurance Claims. Therefore, it is important to Contact Us Before the Insurance Company to help you determine your Roofing Needs. All of our field estimators are skilled in finding wind or hail damage on Commercial and Residential properties.

An accurate assessment will determine the following options:

  • Insurance Claim for an Entire Roof

  • Small Repair

  • No Damage at All!

If in fact you do have damage to warrant insurance involvement, we will help you throughout the entire claims process by:

  • Helping you file the claim

  • Meeting with your insurance adjuster on site to ensure that all the damage is paid for

  • Filing any paperwork related to your claim

STEP 3

File a Claim

Contact your Insurance Company through their claims department. Inform them that your property has sustained damage and give them the type of damage (hail, wind, etc.) and the DATE OF LOSS. At this time, let them know that a professional LookUp Roofing contractor has examined the property and who that contractor is. Your insurance company will give you a Claim Number at this time. Write this number down and provide it to your contractor for reference.

STEP 4

Insurance Adjuster Meeting

An Insurance Adjuster will Contact You within 48 hours of making a claim to schedule an appointment at your property. Inform them of the contractor you have selected and that you would like LookUp Roofing to be present for the inspection. Confirm to LookUp Roofing the date when your insurance adjuster will visit the property so we can meet with them during inspection. We will discuss damages to your roof and the type of work needed to repair your home. This includes all measurements, pricing, and any code upgrade requirements necessary to bring your property back to its original condition before the storm.

STEP 5

Insurance Summary

The Insurance Company will send you a Loss Summary Report containing a list of damages and the proceeds associated. Along with the summary will be your first installment check called ACV (actual cash value payment). It is important to review this with your LookUp Roofing Contact to insure that it's complete and accurate. At this time, you will determine repairs to be made and products to be installed.

STEP 6

Actual Roof Installation

**Most Roof Replacements take only One Day to Install**

  1. Remove all Old Existing Shingles - discards are placed in a dump trailer and hauled away to an approved landfill

  2. Replace or Repair Bad Decking or 1"x6" boards, whichever is applicable to your roof.

  3. Install Ice & Water Shield - Used as an underlayment to protect sloped roofs from water penetration due to wind-driven rain and water back-up resulting from ice dams

  4. Apply Underlayment - Building codes and shingle manufacturers all require the use of a roof underlayment, such as an asphalt roof felt paper or synthetic

  5. Apply Shingles - starting at eaves and working upwards

  6. Apply Flashing around chimney, stack vents and pipes to deflect water away from seams and joints

  7. Install Ventilation - installed at the peak of a sloped roof which allows warm, humid air to escape a building's attic

  8. Clean up surrounding area to ensure it is free of nails and discarded roofing materials

STEP 7

Insurance Claim Completion

Once your project has been completed, LookUp Roofing will send a final invoice with any supplements to the insurance company. This will release any remaining funds being withheld. This is called Recoverable Depreciation.

STEP 8

Final Payment and Warranty Information

Upon receipt of final payment from insurance company, LookUp Roofing will provide you with warranty information for products used.
